Terrible

what's happening in Japan. Hope they get it all figured out. They are people of very high character that's for sure. They had orderly evacuations and no looting. We have too many hoodlums in this country for that.

I hate feeling so helpless.  If you text the word REDCROSS to 90999, a $10 donation will be added to your next bill and you'll hardly notice because if your bill is anything like mine it's already $180 so what's ten more?

I am sure the truth about the shape of their nuclear power plants lies somewhere in the middle of the fear-driven apocalyptic and the "keep going nothing to look at over here, we're all safe"-types.

Somedays I wonder if everything is lining-up for the end. It's hard not too when all the man-made and natural disasters are getting pretty regular and worsening. Anyway sorry about that. I'll try to stay positive for the universe.

Shot for the paper again. Yeah it 'twas Monday yesterday.

This high school pitcher pitched a no-hitter.

This was a house fire in Manitou. Total loss. There were homeless-like people on the scene talking that the lady who lived there set it. I think a friend's brother lived there. Shame. Didn't have much and what they did have is burned-up.

Baby group at the public library. So cute.

My son's robotic group.  He's in the black shirt in the back.  He wrote all the software that tells the robot what to do when they control it. He's very smart but I am worried because all the robotics has gotten him behind in other classes and now he's been sick and he's overwhelmed to catch-up. One day at a time.

The big robot deploys this little one. The little robot has to climb a metal pole. Bubs did the programming for that too.

These two are just snaps out the car window.

So we finally watched Survivor Friday at our house. (I'll admit I watched it with Denise Thursday after everyone else left. I managed to drink a bottle of wine, yes a regular bottle, not a 175ml.  It was Ron's birthday, so there's my rationalization. Plus for medicinal purposes only. I did feel a little rough Fri. in the AM. However, I did make a full recovery within minutes.

On to Fri., that was a fun evening. Russell lost the Redemption Island Challenge and cried like a MF baby.  Ha ha. After the show, we continued to party like rock stars. Ok, more like old orchestra patrons. Very nice ones I might add.

Sharon returned from helping her mother in Kentucky. She'll be moving back for awhile. It was great to see her smiling face.

The gurlz, Cyn, Sharon, Tamra

Whose the old guy with Charlotte? Sorry Ron, bad joke, must be the hat and the recent birthday.

 Spot and Chip.

Noel had a chip on his shoulder.

We had so much fun we did it again over at Ron and Charlotte's Sat. We watched SEC basketball regional game and even though Louisville lost it was fun. I didn't take any photos but it pretty much looked the same.

We also went to a camper/RV show Sat. I should have taken photos there. They were like houses on wheels.  A few of them had more square footage than our house. And a back porch too.

Well back at the AFA grind. Hope it's a smooth week for you and for me too.

It's a beautiful morning...

I know, where have I been? Then I show back up all chipper...

I'll tone it down.

I was having a bunch of uneventful days and really had nothing to add to make your life more enjoyable. I can't remember any instance where I thought "Oh I got to remember that one for the blog." So rather than bore you I just kept it all deep down inside.  Now I am ready to let it all out.

This past Thursday was the first Survivor of the season.  It didn't fail to amuse.  That and it was my super hubby's birthday as well.  Here' some photos of his celebration:

Charlotte creatively decorated an awesome cake.

Nothing says "Greg" more than a sheep with a bird on it's back, nothing.  Very Americana.

I think the lighted tongs were his favorite gift however,

Well, maybe second to a signed copy of Mr. Manley's Manley Man Manuel. I wonder who will receive it next. Stayed tuned.

He's off snowmobiling in the mts.  So happy birthday to him, he deserves it.

OK.  Back to Survivor.  You may or may not have read a bit back when I wrote that one of the Survivor contestants had in fact gone to my esteemed high school in western NY, Wayland Central School, now in fact called Wayland-Cohocton after blending with another small school.  I however did not go to the Cohocton school. I really don't remember much about him except he played on the basketball team and was a very nice guy.

His name is Phillip Sheppard and if you watched the first show last Wed., you know exactly who I am talking about. Here's a link from a  local small newspaper about him.  To say he's an interesting contestant may be the understatement of the year.  After searching for reaction about him other blogs they think he's a nut -job to be frank. I will say this: I know the show edits for the best reaction to a contestant.  However, I think he broke every rule you must follow to stay in the game very long, he brought up he was an ex-fed agent no less than twenty times, was a pushy know-it-all making the shelter and a loud mouth at tribal council.  To top it all off he wore saggy pink underwear.  Can't they wear bathing suits anymore?  I am sick of looking at their bras and underwear.  Jeeze.

Well it's not good to rush to judgement and contestants have risen out of the hole they have initially dug for themselves so I hope Phil digs himself out of this one. Maybe it's the hole of a bad edit. At least he was entertaining.  And that's what the producers want: a new, fresh, unpredictable dude to make us shake our heads in disbelief.

Nothing else much talking about but I will try not being so boring for so long.

Oh happy V-D day late from Jack Guinta:

What a sweet boy. Ehh?

Ta ta, WCS class of '78 and future survivor contestant, (joke) most definitely a joke, CSL

This is the day

your life will surely change... Love that song, you know what I am taking 'bout.

This The The song.  (Click The The song, but you knew that.) I always thought it was written for me.  Still makes me happy or sad depending on my mood and I still think it was written for me.

Anyway a high school friend sent me a FB message that another high school friend is on Survivor this season starting in a few weeks. His name is Phillip Shepard here's his video.   His family was one of two African-American families in this small town of two-thousand people. Very diverse.

Okay so here's my confession of the day. Some days at work when I'm placing other people's shitty photos on a page I really miss taking photos.  I bite my tongue and giddy-up.  They have no clue.  No clue. I know what your wondering, no clue I am hating on their art or no clue their art is horrible?  Both.

I would love a day that my life would surely change, for the good, of course.  I am asking the universe for this.  Please.

Hope you have some good changes coming your way. Ask the universe.

And oh by the way, after another mammogram (candygram?) and a sonogram of my left breast, all is clear.  That's right Houston, there's no problem here. Whew.

everyday's a new day.....

.....well of coarse it is.  Although at times I think a Ground Hog's day experience to repeat a good day would be neat.

The family, except for myself, have all had colds the last couple days, the Spring variety with stuffed noses and sore throats  Today Bubs stayed home.

We still have the dog.  There has been highs and lows.  I slept so soundly Sat. into Sun. that I didn't get up to let Jack out in the middle of the night and he peed his kennel.  So had to launder his bedding and give him a bath at 6 am Sun. and I really rather have been sleeping.  Gone are the carefree days of getting up at ten and reading the paper with a pot of coffee and doing as I please.  Now I get up 5:30/6 am and eventually wear at least a cup of the coffee because he's trying to lick it out of my cup.  But I am out on the trail before work and it will eventually pay off. The kids that were initially excited to have him around have grown annoyed at the inconvenience of caring for a puppy.  I have grown attached but I am sane and want him to be with his family, if his family is a loving one.  Which brings up the point why hasn't anybody been looking for him?  I will get him scanned for a chip tomorrow.  All that said I truly want him as my dog, cause all the trouble will be short-lived.

Stop here if you don't like Survivor.

Sunday was the Survivor finale.  We had a delightful time and watched to find out who won.  The feelings were different within the group,  I was glad Sandra won although she wasn't my favorite.  Russell who proclaims he's the best at the game didn't manage to get one vote.  That means he wasn't the best at the game. I was glad to that Parvarty, who is a smug little schemer, didn't win.  Ha ha, haha.  They don't do much surviving anymore; struggling with lack of food and trying to live in the elements.  I am kinda sick of having repeat contestants, so bring on the new and keep Russell off TV, ok Probst?

Gotta run.
More later..C.

WTF Denver Broncos

....you heard me.  I knew it. Fucking Broncos can't even pull a home win out of their asses against the worst NFL team, ok second worse team, (forgot about the Rams and the Lions, but will count them each as a half of team).  Ok got that off my chest.  I know I got a big chest too, trust me. That plus the commentators on CBS honestly where do they get these guys....ughhhh.  I heard one of them say it was smart for Orton to take a sack.  The sack was "smart ball control".  Don' get me started.

Anyway had a lovely day yesterday baking cookies with my lovely daughter I'll call her Margina, for now. Despite almost killing each other numerous times we baked a couple dozen each of chocolate peppermint, shortbread and chocolate chip cookies.  We are both 1. Scorpios 2. Rats 3. know everything  4. she doesn't listen, plus 5. doesn't clean up her mess.  Add that up, with some sharp cooking utensils and  an arguing tendency, we are lucky to have survived without a flesh wound anyhow.  But she is lovely and pours me wine, so all is forgiven.

We then watched "He's just not that into you", which had quite the beautiful people ensemble cast including: Jennifer "eyes too close together but who notices cause yer looking at her ass" Aniston, Drew "something tells me she still drinks"Barrymore, Ben "Pannycake head" Affleck, and Scarlett "big lips and tits" Johansen as well as the Mac nerd spokesman whose name I've never fuckin' knew or soon forgot, plus some d-bag who played the cheater with too many teeth in his smile.  So it was entertaining enough and although I'll never watch it again no regrets on the few hours spent on it.

Tonight Survivor finally.  I am excited.  Good luck good lookin' Dr. ( in red below, Mick)

"I know I am an ass but at least I keep it interesting"
                              Russell- the redneck
Woot.  Woot.!!

Survivor,NFL Sunday, The Rockies and the 2C tax

First let me get to Survivor before I forget about what it was about. Russell the little troll is still irritating but I guess I see why they chose him. The drama injected into the reality shows is starting to really bother me and I guess this is just another example of producers trying to keep it interesting. If it was just a group of average well behaved people than WTF. Maybe they would just be judged on challenges and social behavior. How boring. (inject sarcasm). Anyway finally the Galu team lost and they voted off Yaz despite her going all out in challenges. She said that the edit of the show made her look way lazier than she was. They kept the weak Monica who will see the door in the near future.
I am a believer. The Broncos are 5-0 after an overtime win Sunday. We were on needles and pins are usual. To win over the cheater Belicheck was fabulous and I'll even give credit to Orton and McDaniels. Good job, the Patriots were a true barometer on how the Broncos are truly faring.
We had the crew over and had wings, chili, fried green tomatoes and soup. We did a lot of yelling and candle lighting. Fun times.
Later on,while watching my Sunday dramas I was flicking back and forth between them and the Rockies and fell asleep. So when I awoke about 11:30 pm I flicked on the game to see the Rockies lose the in bottom of the ninth. Let's see if there's any light behind their eyes tonight. Last chance Rockies go for it.
I took a long walk today in the Garden of the Gods. I am always so bummed out about how over managed the park is. Fences all over, signs all over, you can't even take a landscape photograph with out a f#ckin sign in the background. They don't want people walking off the paths but if people want to they will go off trail and a mile of split wood fence is no deterrent. I am just saying they have spent a lot of money to junk up the place. A lot of city tax payer money. I could go on and on about the mess they've created with the mismanagement of funds and guess what now the tax payers don't trust them. Surprise they now need lots more money just to keep a police force and fire stations manned. They are saying we are in danger if we don't vote in a $400 property tax increase. And when times get fat again no they won't decrease it. I will vote for it but I am reluctant. Let's just vote this peanut gallery out of office next time. Heck, our city manager came from CA where she just walked away from her mortgage and is now being sued by the bank. This was no little rancher like you and I live in this was a multi-million dollar number. We can't vote her out. Cheerio, C.
