Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter

This is what I here from my daughter's alarm clock every morning at 7am
Here Comes The Sun
I will never get sick of that song, well maybe, let's see how long her Beatles phase lasts.

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.. not really, but I went to type out yesterday and that's what came out after referring to the Beatles earlier.

Yesterday, I went to cover a memorial service at Fort Carson for five fallen soldiers. These are never easy, emotionally or photographically.  The army gives you nothing to photograph except the stagnant memorial on the sanctuary and the color guard performing the volleys and taps.  I know there's lots of emotion, and I bet some of the families' do want to tell their stories. On the other hand, I am sure the army doesn't want to feel like they are serving them up to the hungry media.  Anyway, I just feel really bad for them.  All of these soldiers died so young.  I am not quite sure why. I know how they died, bomb attack, but why.  Sure, I know what the government want us to believe but I'm not sure if I do.  But, for the families sake I won't believe it was for nought.

I think of the John Prine song Sam Stone and know of all the troubles that come back with some of the soldiers. They risked their necks for this country and come back with PTSD or in a box,  all for the price of our freedom?  I hope so.

There's a hole in daddy's arm, where all the money goes,
Jesus Christ died for nothin' I suppose.
Little pitchers have big ears,
Don't stop to count the years,
Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios.
Mmm....
heartbreaking.

I have been working on a project about medical marijuana.  You would not believe all the dispensaries blooming all over the city.  They smell like a giant bud really good weed, wafting as I walked into these places.  I was worried about picking up my son from school today after just being in a few of their waiting rooms.  Most of them charge around $60 for an eighth of an ounce.  You need a Dr.'s script and then a medical card that costs a couple hundred bucks  in order to get in the door to these places.  Since both the reporter and I look like somebody's mother and maybe even grandmother and seeing we are on professional business they let us come through to check it out.

This guy used to be a Broadway stage tech until his Aunt got cancer and they figured they better help her get some good bud.  The are in business together selling weed in jars.

This was the back of a T-shirt on the wall of one of the dispensaries.

Anyhow I hope your five -day forecast is all sunny, mostly sunny or partly cloudy whatever you may prefer.  C.
